Sub Target Gun Company Experimental Folding Shovel
Item: WWI1148

Rare pre-WW1 era Sub Target Gun Co. Trench Shovel Circa 1908. These were developed by George F. Elliott and tested by the USMC.  The design was rejected in favor of the T-handled shovel.   The shovel is hinged to fold.  It is maker stamped on the wooden handle.  It measures approximately 31.5" long with a shovel blade width of approximately 6".  Included is a copy of the original patent application.  These do not turn up too often!
